Week 8 Strength & Consistency Breakdown
As we continue progressing through our training, Week 8's consistency and strength charts highlight significant developments in our hitters' performance. The numbers not only showcase improvements in average exit velocity but also provide insight into the consistency of each player's swing, as well as their strength metrics.
Here’s a breakdown of the key takeaways from this week’s data:
12U Division
Several players showed steady improvements, with some notable increases in max velocity (MV). Hudson demonstrated a solid performance with an average exit velocity of 52.64 mph and a max velocity of 64 mph, showing a difference of 11.36 mph between his best and average swings. Mason stood out with a max velocity of 65 mph while maintaining an average of 50.56 mph, resulting in a 14.44 mph difference, showcasing his ability to reach higher exit velocities. Luca maintained consistency with an average of 55.84 mph and a max of 64 mph, keeping his variance at a low 8.16 mph.
13U Division
This age group saw some big jumps in max velocity. Evan had one of the most significant differences, with an average velocity of 45.84 mph and a max velocity of 69 mph, a 23.16 mph jump, indicating the potential for big swings when everything lines up. Johnny continued to impress, with an average of 55.52 mph and a max velocity of 69 mph, showing his power potential. Oliver displayed one of the highest max velocities in this age group, reaching 70 mph while maintaining an average of 58.48 mph, indicating solid consistency.
14U Division
The 14U players continued to showcase steady development. Marco maintained strong exit velocities, hitting a max of 75 mph with an average of 63 mph, demonstrating a balanced approach with a 12 mph difference. Oliver had the highest max velocity of this group at 77 mph, with an average of 60.48 mph, showing his ability to generate power. Matthew B was another standout, hitting 75 mph max and an average of 59.16 mph, with a 15.84 mph difference, highlighting his ability to reach peak performance.
15U Division
The older players continued pushing their limits with higher exit velocities. Luke had the biggest variance, recording a max velocity of 85 mph while averaging 61.28 mph, resulting in a 23.72 mph difference, indicating a need to improve consistency. Marciano followed closely behind, with a max velocity of 77 mph and a 24.04 mph difference. Mason recorded the highest max velocity at 82 mph, while maintaining an impressive average of 68.08 mph, proving his ability to generate elite-level exit speeds.
Final Thoughts
Consistency and strength remain crucial factors in hitting development. The ability to narrow the gap between average and max velocity while increasing overall strength will lead to better performance. As we progress, the focus will be on refining swing mechanics and improving physical conditioning to maximize results.
